F5 Networks named application networking vendor of the year in Asia Pacific by Frost and Sullivan

Singapore, May 26, 2008 - F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that the company has clinched the Application Networking Vendor of the Year Award at the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards, held in Singapore. The Awards recognise outstanding performance and leadership by companies within the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry in Asia Pacific that have made the most significant impact on the market in 2007.

This is the first time that Frost & Sullivan has introduced the Application Delivery category. It reflects the growing shift from application networking and deployment to a focus on application delivery.

"F5 Networks continued its dominant position in the application networking market with strong year-on-year growth. Its highly feature-rich product BIG-IP solution with extensive product and feature modules address most customer requirements. The company's strong product line, technology partnerships and commitment to innovation has been vital to its continued success in the application networking market," said Nitin Bhat, Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific, ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan. "F5 also has one of the strongest channel partner and support networks in Asia Pacific, with unwavering focus on the application networking segment. The company is well positioned to further capitalize on its strong presence in the future," Bhat added.

"We are excited and honoured to receive the first Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Award for Application Delivery Networking Vendor of the Year," said Song Tang Yih, Vice President of F5 Networks, Asia Pacific. "This award not only represents the opinions of industry experts, but also demonstrates the confidence they have in F5 and we are grateful for this recognition. IT architectures today support business-level requirements and mission-critical applications are increasingly thrust into the forefront of business operations. As such, our customers need solutions that can handle application optimisation, availability, and security functions in the most cost-effective, scalable and efficient manner."

F5 is the only vendor that can make all applications work using a single, universal platform. Its Traffic Management Operating System--TMOS--was designed from the ground up to make networks "application-aware" and to let F5 products communicate with each other, ensuring that applications are delivered exactly as intended, protected from security threats, traffic congestions, and network failures. Song added "We have been partnering successfully with industry leaders like Microsoft, Oracle, and SAP to deliver the Application Ready Network-a prescriptive application network architecture designed specifically for enterprise applications. Our understanding of applications and our ability to be fluent in them has enabled F5 to change the network from a passive, connectivity-centric piece of plumbing to something that can provide intelligence at the application level while operating at network speeds."
