Lotte.com Maximizes Business Stability and Efficiency with F5

F5's BIG-IP® Application Delivery Controller enables Lotte.com to address increasing traffic volume and conduct server and session management

Seoul, October 08, 2007 - F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that Lotte.com has chosen the F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager to ensure that its e-commerce applications are always secure, fast, and available to its online customers to ensure maximum user experience for its website.

Lotte.com, one of Korea's largest e-commerce business companies, has over 380,000 hits daily on its e-commerce website. In order to effectively manage the heavy user traffic, Lotte.com decided to deploy an Application Delivery Controller (ADC) to address its growing traffic volume over buying additional bandwidth.

Prior to deciding on the F5 BIG-IP solution, Lotte.com tested various solutions from other vendors that incorrectly promised better application performance and more effective layer 7 management. Lotte.com finally selected F5 BIG-IP LTM because it provided the most intelligent and adaptable solution to secure, optimize, and deliver applications, thus enabling Lotte.com to effectively and competitively run their e-business operations.

Lotte.com chose to deploy two units of BIG-IP 6400 and four units of BIG-IP 6800 as the BIG-IP devices met their prerequisites for delivering high availability, improving performance, application security, and access control, all within the units. Additionally, F5 products were easy to manage and deploy. It also reduces the total cost of ownership and provides superior reliability for platform longevity.

"As our e-commerce business is growing extremely faster, we had to consider deploying an ADC to ensure high availability, improved performance, application security, and access control," Yoo Shin, The Deputy Manager of Enabler Team in Lotte.com said "We especially liked F5 because of it TMOS architecture which provides us with a unified system for optimal application delivery and iRules, which provides us with ultimate flexibility."

"To have secure, fast and reliable applications must be in the DNA for any company wanting to succeed today's fast changing environment," said Nam Duck-Woo, Country Manager for F5 Networks Korea. "F5 enables business applications to work using a single, universal platform - TMOS - this is one of the reasons why a successful and fast growing company such as Lotte.com trusts us to keep their applications running."
