Educational Broadcasting System Improves Speed and Site Performance with F5

F5's BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager enables EBS to maximize stability and accommodate increased site usage and traffic volumes

Seoul, July 11, 2007 - F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that Educational Broadcasting System (EBS), the largest educational broadcasting station in Korea, has chosen the F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager to ensure high availability, fast and secure delivery, resulting in a quicker and more stable user experience for its Web English channels and foreign language sites.

EBS plans to expand its web-based educational content to provide a wider selection of services to its 22 million users. In order to cope with the anticipated surge in usage and traffic volume, EBS accessed the performance and cost-benefits of several solutions from four vendors. They finally selected a high availability deployment solution consisting of two pairs of BIG-IP 6800 and a pair of BIG-IP 8400 Local Traffic Managers to efficiently manage their network.

"BIG-IP LTM's performance in addressing sessions is much better than the other solutions," said Kwon Chang-Sun, the manager in media team of EBS. "EBS is now able to provide customers with more web content without service degrading with the help of BIG-IP LTM which ensures intelligent traffic management and load balancing."
